Do solar panels come hard wired?

I have what I believe to be an older generation Ring solar panel (1st?). It has a 10 foot cord and I wanted to replace it with a shorter one. I bought a Ring barrel plug to USB-C adapter for stick up cams that is about 6 inches long, but the old wire will not come out of the back of the panel. The barrel goes in fine at the camera, but the old cord seems to be hard wired and I tried to pull it with pliers but I am afraid I will break it. Do later generation panels come hard wired or with the barrel plugs?
