Connecting to Ring/MyQ/Lifmaster garage door
troubleshooting

I've had my garage door and HomeLink device for years.  Bought the Ring/Liftmaster device about a year ago.  Connected the Ring device and it seemed to work well . . . in hindsight.  But, I never unplugged the HomeLink, so I don't know which device was actually opening the door. Lost power a couple of weeks ago and now my wife's iPhone can't open the garage door.  I've tried and failed to get it to open and now have a few questions. Do I need the HomeLicnk and the Ring device plugged in?  The Ring device doesn't appear on my wife's phone.  I've tried adding it to her device, log in to Ring, I'm taken to login to Amazon, and then get a 'already connected to that acct' popup.  We have two Ring accts - hers and mine.  How do I add that device to ehr acct?  All other devices show on both phones.  How do I connect both phones to the Ring device?

Hi @requiredusername. If your wife is a Shared User, you cannot add the MyQ feature to their account. Only the owner account will have access to it.

Thanks for the reply.  At one point both of us could open/close the garage door using MyQ when it was setup in Ring.  What I don't know is how to get the Ring Garage door device to show up again in Ring for both accts.  Maybe sign both of us up in my acct.  That would mean I don't need to set the Ring garage door device in both accts.
