  Thank you for asking @DonC ! We do not recommend using these outdoors as the speaker, antennae, and plug prongs are not weather proofed or resistant. As long as the standard wall outlet is in an enclosed area and away from any outdoor elements, the Chime Pro should be fine for use there.

  THANKS for your reply! The outlet is at the far back corner of 1 side wall - almost to the house wall. It is very well protected from the weather.

  Thank you for the update. If it is in a very well protected area from the weather, it should be fine, but we still do not recommend it for outdoor use. I have personally heard of neighbors placing it in a protective covering outside, but do not have experience with this. If you do place it outside, I would personally recommend bringing it inside during any storms.

  I would definitedly bring it inside when a storm is pending. But, that outlet has not even gotten damp during **numerous** hurricanes - even Byran which came in directly from the South. The back of the house faces South/West.
