Peephole Cam – Live View not working after flex cable replacement
Hi everyone, I’m having trouble with my Ring Peephole Cam and hoping someone here has seen this before. A few months ago, the internal flex cable broke, and the device stopped working completely. I canceled my Ring Protect subscription during that time (around 3 months). Recently, I replaced the flex cable with a spare part, reconnected the device, and set it up from scratch. Now the situation is: The camera connects to Wi-Fi Motion notifications arrive When someone presses the doorbell, my phone rings But Live View doesn’t work – neither from the app nor from Ring.com The screen just shows “Activating device” or “There was an issue starting Live View” I’ve already: Reinstalled the app Factory reset the camera Removed and re-added the device Tried on different phones and networks (including LTE) Still no video. My suspicion: either a hardware issue with the video sensor, or something on Ring’s side due to the subscription lapse. Any ideas or similar experiences? Thanks! – Orhen
