Door Contact Sensor & Chime

I am thinking about getting the door contact sensor and ring chime but I see that on the sensor it requires the alarm system. I have a few ring cameras and just want to here the beep noise when someone opens the main doors. Do I really need to get the whole alarm system or will the sensors work with just the chime?

Hi @phujen. A Ring Alarm system is required in order for Ring Alarm accessories, such as the Contact Sensor, to work. All of the Ring Alarm accessories connect directly to the Base Station, which is part of the Ring Alarm system. This is separate from your Cameras, as those connect directly to your home wifi network and cannot be linked up with Ring Alarm accessories. I hope that helps clear things up! :)
