Digital doorbell not working

I have a Ring Pro2 that I installed. Do the doorbells need to be compatible, or does any one work? Also does the Pro2 need a diode installed on the ring itself? I have a digital doorbell. The transformer puts out 20V, though the ring app says it is getting poor voltage. I would like for my in home doorbell to chime. Thanks for your help.
