Alexa display of Ring camera views causing answered motion 30 minute videos

Problem: Since Ring upgraded my plan to include 30 minute live views, whenever the connected Alexa devices display a Ring camera motion alert, a 30 minute recording takes place. This is only supposed to happen when one views an alert on the Ring app. Now my Ring camera batteries (I have several stick up cameras outside) need recharging every day due to the wasteful 30 minute recordings. Ring tech service says they cannot turn off this automatic answered view. Does anyone have a solution?
