Wired ring spotlight motion won’t turn off

I have a wired video spotlight on my porch. I want the ability to keep the light off when motion is detected. I set up “disarmed” mode to keep motion detection off and lights off. Even when the device is in disarmed mode, the light turns on when motion is detected. How can I keep the light off???How can I shut off motion detection.? Why isn’t disarmed mode working? I’d rather not have to turn power off to that light circuit manually at my junction box to accomplish this. I should be able to simply do this from the ring app. Please help
