Ring video doorbell 2nd gen - every video recording length becomes exact 12 minutes
troubleshooting

I have ring video doorbell 2nd gen. Recently, all the video recording length becomes exact 12 minutes. This problem makes my doorbell battery draining fast. Can someone give me advices? Thanks.P.s. I set the video length as 60s with advanced motion detection. Tried restart the machine but no luck.

Hi @user_c138e5. Do you happen to have an Alexa Device linked to this doorbell? If so, the Alexa device may be activating a Live View and causing the long video lengths. Try investigating the Alexa app if this is the case and let us know.

My Echo devices show ring button presses and this video is kept short, however, today I set up a FIRE TV to display my ring cameras/doorbells, after closing the video feed on the FIRE TV the recording isn't available on ring.com or the ring app for 12mins, this is because it is still recording, even though I have no active connections, again this causes two problems, 1. the battery on the ring device depletes. 2. I can't access the video file for 12mins to see what triggered the event etc. Really annoyed, as I only purchased the FIRE TV for this reason and not it has caused an unwanted result. Is there a different voice command we can give Alexa to end the connection instead of just closing the active view maybe? Please help!
