Notification on Android phone but not coming through on Galaxy Watch

When the notification setting in the Ring app is set to vibrate my android phone does two long buzzes - twice and will also buzz on my galaxy watch once (when I say buzz, I mean vibrate). This is too much and annoying but can't change the length or tone of the vibration. When I toggle off the vibration in the settings, the phone does two shorts buzzes but my watch doesn't vibrate at all. Any suggestions? This happens on both motion and doorbell ring notifications
