Hardwired battery drain Ring 3

Had happily used a Ring Doorbell 2 for two years till it decided to give up completely. Ring replaced it with a doorbell 3. For two years with the “2” no issues with the battery, now I’m using a “3” I’ve had the battery drain down to 10% despite being hardwired. Short of swapping batteries around, any suggestions on stopping the drain and allowing the battery to retain relatively full charge like I used to enjoy with the doorbell 2?
