I have had a ring doorbell for 2 years with the subscription set up to come out of my debit card, no issues until today - the payment failed to come out (I have the funds available) I tried to add 2 other payment cards with different banks on the ring website, I am getting an error to say card has been declined. I contacted customer support who told me that only credit cards are available & if I do not have one then I need to go to the bank to open one! I then spoke to a manager as I was unhappy with this ‘outcome’ the manager told me to try a different device (tried this, still get the same message) or go into my bank to explain the issue. I explained that it cannot be an issue with all my banks, it must be an issue with ring, also my banks have approved the payments coming out, the only time I see an issue is on the ring website. I now cannot make the payment for my subscription so will lose those added features. The only option seems to be cancelling the subscription completely. Customer services say that you can no longer pay using direct debit with your bank card, they will only accept a credit card payment, which is different to what the website says, website states customers can use debit or credit card for subscriptions. No staff member seems to understand. Very unhappy!

      Seem to have encountered same problem obo of my elderly mum. She does not have a credit card to use for this. I’ll look to use another camera manufacturer.

        Currently, you can pay for a Ring Home subscription with either a debit or credit card. Keep in mind that you can only have one payment method on file for your subscription. Try deleting the card you have listed first before attempting to add a new card.
