Ring Doobell 4 hardwired, want solar as well
I am tired of recharging my Ring 4 doorbell. It is hardwired for a trickle, and i like it that way as it also rings my normal house doorbell. Can I add a solar kit? Like the one that surrounds it, or the one that I can mount to roof and have it wired to? Seems like the trickle should keep up. I know that if i turn all the alerts off, and only have it take one picture a day, then it will never run out. But we add these to our house to allow us to see what’s going on. The chime/wifi extender is like 10 feet from my front door so that should not be an issue. Essentially, can i add the two wires to the back of the doorbell camera and not fry the house stuff, the doorbell or the solar panel?

Hi @ratman_90. If your Doorbell is already hardwired, you cannot add a solar panel to it. If your battery is draining rapidly even though it is hardwired, this Help Center page has some tips that can help.
