Convert plug-in spotlight to hardwire configuration

I am trying to find step-by-step instructions to convert a plug-in spotlight camera to a hardwired configuration.   is there a kit to do this?   I’ve only found ring kits to mount/connect a “wired” spotlight camera to house wires, not a plug-in camera.     Do you just cut the plug-in cord and pass through a hole drilled through the mounting plate?    Expose cut ends of cord and connect to house wires with wire nuts?   Thanks?
