Standard subscription should automatically update the history to 180 days
I subscribed to a Ring satandard subscription in January I think, anyway it has been just under a year since I took on the subscription and in all that time I was under the impression that I had 180 days of history coverage. Having found recently, and far too late to be of any use, that subscribing to Ring does not update you to cover 180 day but leaves it on 30 days I am now going to be potentially out of pocket for a great deal of money due to not having footage available to me that I though to be safe with Rings service. This is an absolutely ridiculous state of affairs that the history would not be updated to cover the whole 180 days when you take out a subscription and I feel that it is Ring being very cheap with their resources that have already been paid for hoping to save a few pounds on hosting this coverage history. Is there any way to get video footage of events that have fallen out of this bloody stupid limit that has been imposed by Ring? If not I am going to be out of pocket for thousands of pounds due to a spurious insurance claim that could have easily been proven false if Ring had not imposed this stupid limit on their paying customers. To me this is just a cheap and nasty way of saving a penny at the expense of your paying customers and I would now advise people against going with ring whereas I was quite the advocate for their services. Is there any way to get this footage back or am I doomed to have a huge increase in my insurance premiums?

Why are the settings not automatically changed when taking out a standard or better subscription? This is not giving us what we pay for and looks to me to be cheapness on behalf of Ring.

It is penny-pinching for sure. I also didn't know that when Ring say "up to 180 days" that it means looking for hidden menus to allow us to find that 180 day option. It clearly is Ring trying to get out of giving us what we paid for by hiding the option rather than just defaulting to it. It wouldn't be so bad if they made it clear what the default is, and how to change it, but to go out of the way to hide it is tantamount to fraud. Of course all they are interested in is trying to save server space as cloud data is money. Ring are a constant disappointment. Spouting crap by telling us they are improving services all the time so they are putting prices up. It's all rubbish, commercial claptrap enrobed in marketing sparkle.
