Z wave extender or Base issue
1 of 2 motion 2nd gen sensors and 2nd gen keypad intermittently fail. Both were replaced. The motion sensor triggers a false alarm in away mode. The keypad won’t work touching the extender, only when within 8 feet of base. If extender battery is removed&unplugged it still shows online. Also Removed failed device and added back. Same status and unresponsiveness. 3 false alarms 5 calls to Ring 8+ hours spent on this Ring support says I need an additional extender. I say it’s either a bad extender or something in the base like a software upgrade that changed.

Hi @jrepinski. The false alarms from the Motion Sensor are likely unrelated to the issues you're experiencing with the Keypad and Range Extender. Windows, heat sources, and air vents can trigger false alarms. We have some tips on how to prevent false alarms here https://ring.com/support/articles/8q7tt/Preventing-Motion-Detector-False-Alarms. As for the Keypad and the Range Extender, it sounds like the Range Extender isn't establishing a connection with the Base Station. This results in the Keypad not responding, as the Range Extender isn't able to bridge the connection between the Keypad and the Base Station. What happens if you move the Keypad and Range Extender both closer to the Base Station?
