Ring notification limit android

I have been missing notifications lately and looking into this it appears there is a limit on the amount of notifications android will accept. There appears to be conflicting information on this some saying android sets a limit others saying an app can set this independently. Is there a way ring could increase this or at least automatically delete after a certain limit is reached. I have missed several important notifications recently.
