Continuous False Alarms from Motion Sensor: Need Help
Hi everyone, I’m dealing with an issue where my motion sensor keeps triggering false alarms. It’s happening frequently, and I’m unsure what’s causing it. I’ve checked for common issues like: Pets moving in the sensor’s range Curtains or plants swaying due to drafts Incorrect sensitivity settings Despite this, the false alarms continue. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Are there specific troubleshooting steps or adjustments I can try to fix this? I’d also appreciate recommendations on reliable motion sensors or tips for optimizing their performance. Thanks for your advice!

Hi @user_b469a7. To help determine if the Motion Detector is faulty, or if there is something in the environment causing the motion detection, place the Motion Detector in a box or a drawer. In this controlled environment, there should be no motion detected. If your device does not detect motion, something in the room where it's mounted is causing the false notifications. This could be a HVAC vent, or even a PC. The Motion Detector uses Passive Infrared for detection, so it is susceptible to changes in temperature. I hope this information helps.
