Upgrading from Video Doorbell 2 to Pro or Elite
Hi all, Hope you're all well. I currently have a Ring Video Doorbell 2 as installed by an electrician which is hardwired to a mechanical chime. If I wanted to upgrade to a Video Doorbell 3, Pro or Elite, would i need to change any wiring inside at the chime? Im guessing with the two wires at the doorbell currently, i don't need to do anything when upgrading the doorbell itself... Thank you in advance!

Glad you asked, @bostone133. As long as your current transformer is rated for 16v to 24v of AC power, nothing would have to be changed for the Doorbell 3 or Elite. The Doorbell Pro, however, features a specific setup when it comes to wiring. I've attached the manual for this installation for reference on steps and hardware, with the biggest difference being the Chime. I recommend also checking our [Chime Compatibility list](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360045180971-Ring-Video-Doorbell-3-and-3-Plus-Chime-compatibility-list-) for the Video Doorbell 3 to ensure the chime kit you are using would work with that model. I hope this helps! :)
