Ring not honoring warranty on faulty device
I have a ring pro 2 doorbell in which the lense is detaching itself from the camera. Upon doing a bit research I’ve seen hundreds of people have the same issue as me. Doorbell hasn’t recieved any damage the glue behind the lense is failing, clearly a manufacturer fault. I urge anyone with the same problem in experiencing to take the to an ombudsman. We are covered here in the UK by the consumer rights act. Goods must be fit for purpose. People should not be paying £219 for faulty goods and then being told the warranty doesn’t cover it.

Small Claims Court will help. As you rightly say, good must be fit for purpose, and the Ring Doorbell is an outdoor device and as such it "must last a reasonable length of time". Same for the finish on the Bronze Doorbell that peels after a short time. Again, it's built as an outdoor product and again it should last a reasonable length of time. In the EU that's up to 6 years if it's deemed a known manufacturing fault. When approaching the Small Claims Court always supply other instances of the same failure if possible, the Judge takes all information provided into consideration so the more you can supply the better. Supply details of the Extended Warranty too and tell the Judge you bought the warranty under the assumption failure of this type would be covered and that it was not made clear it was not. Tell the Judge you believe failure due to water ingress not being covered under a warranty when the device is an outdoor device is Key Information which should be made much clearer at point of purchase. Then, most importantly, provide the outcome publicly so that others can use your case themselves. Once the Judge finds in your favour once, it's likely other Judges will follow. If this is a common failure, Ring of course will try to get out of replacing the product for free. Just saying no to the customer, usually illicit a response that no means no in the customer's head. However, the more people approach the Small Claims Court the better and eventually Trading Standards could be convinced to pick it up and that could result in a recall. Incidentally, the Small Claims Court does cost money, but if found in your favour Ring must pay the costs. Good luck.
