troubleshooting

While familiarizing myself with my new Ring system, I figured I would try a test video share. I went to my history and chose a benign video to test. I clicked on the share button and a prompt popped up and made a link for me. I have a different email, not connected the one I use for Ring. I figured I would send it to my other email. I sent it, logged onto my other email and it was there. I viewed it and all was well. I went back to my dashboard and see if I could unshare the same. I did an unshare and then went back to the other email and tried to open it, it said "This video is no longer available. The person who owns it decided to remove it. Ok great so far. However, underneath it has 3 lines, the first says FAQ, the second says 'My Dashboard, 3rd says Shop. When I clicked My Dashboard, my actual dashboard and system along with my videos and all came up. That should not have happened. What if I share a video with someone through email and they click "My Dashboard?!' They would have access to my system. That shouldn't be. Finally, I logged out of my Ring system, went back to the email and it had the same 3 lines, but this time when I clicked My Dashboard, it prompted me to logon. Fair enough, a little later, I logged back onto my Ring account and then went back to the other email and was again able to access my account through My Dashboard even though the video remained removed. Now, until I can solve this issue, I cannot and will not share a video for fear that someone will be able to access my account, videos and all. Help!!!

Hi @user_e1c501. This is just a matter of happenstance. Because you are logged into your account, and using the device that you're logged in on, the My Dashboard button redirects you there. If you were to use a separate device, that is not logged on and completely foreign to your Ring account, that button would just redirect your to the page where you can login to your account. There is no possibility that your account information or security is in jeopardy. Again, this is only happening because you are already logged in and on the same device. You can test this by clicking the same link using a computer or tablet that is not logged into your Ring account. I hope this clears things up for you.
