Suitable transformer for "Ring Video Wired"?
Why isn't it possible to have a mechanical doorbel while using a wired Ring Video Doorbell? Hello!. Im looking for a suitable transformer for my " Ring Video Doorbell Wired" Many people say different things. Some say I need at least 10V others day at least 16V. And others say try it on your existing 8V transformer. Would this produxt be sufficient ( Its in Dutch) https://www.vekto.nl/voeding-24vdc-15w-0-63a-dinrail-ingang-85-264vac It says it is a stabilized transformer whatever that is. And in standby it only takes 0.3W. And it is 85-264VAC. Is that not a bit too much? 85-264VAC 47-60Hz 0.63 A 24VDC out of box Potentiometer to be set between 21.6VDC en 29VDC. Stanby is 0.3Watts Stabilized (what does this mean?) Some insights and experiences please. Everyone says something different. Even the official manual.

Why is Rings doorbell transformer DC output. While we are warned never to use a 3rd party DC doorbell transformer? Even Ring's Plugin adapter has 24V DC output. Can I use this transformer which is DC out but has close specs to Ring's own DC output transformer? Mean well HDR-15-24 https://docs.vekto.nl/media/mean-well/HDR-15-spec.pdf 15.2W, 0.63A, 24V DC. stabilized.

CHi @Brazy. The DIN Rail transformer that Marley linked is designed specifically for Ring devices and is not compatible with digital or mechanical chimes. We can't speak for other third party transformers you may consider using and say whether or not they will work as they were not designed specifically for Ring devices. If you're located in Europe, make sure any third party transformer you're considering using meets the power requirements listed for the [Video Doorbell Wired](https://en-uk.ring.com/products/video-doorbell-wired) in Europe: 8-24 VAC, 10-40VA, 50/60Hz.

The [Ring Video Doorbell Wired](https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-wired) requires a transformer rating of 10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz. You can also use a [Plug-In Adapter](https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-plugin-adapter-gen-2) to power the Video Doorbell Wired. Depending on region, you may need a DIN Rail transformer, which can be found [here](https://en-uk.ring.com/collections/accessories/products/din-rail-transformer-gen-2). For further assistance with powering or wiring your Video Doorbell Wired, it is always good to consult with a qualified electrician.
