Ring told me NOT to buy now but wait until tomorrow
So went onto ring today to get the 2-Pack Stick Up Cam Pro, normally priced at 299.99 but discounted to 279.98. My plan discount did not apply so I called. The person told me that the plan discount could not be applied to the current sales. I told him that I would like my 10% discount. He replied back that the current discount is more (kids…stay in school!). I then had to quiz him to make him realize that 10% of $300 is more than $20 and that the 10% is more. He put me on hold and came back and told me that if I wanted the 10% discount to just wait until the sale is over and then buy. First time in my life that I had the product in a shopping cart and credit card in hand and told to “come back later”. First…where is the 10% discount for being a loyal customer? Second…who is the marketing genius that does not allow a customer to apply the greater of 2 discounts? Does Ring want the sale? Maybe it’s time to research a new camera solution…customer service is not top for Ring it seems. And posting this as it seemed that the rep could not care about making the sale. Wait…maybe put them on commission???
