Brand new Keypad, USB Power plug doesn't fit

Just like the title says, we got a new Ring Security Kit and I'm setting it up, and it seems like the USB plug doesn't fit into the back of the keypad. I'm not talking about the USB part, but rather the white plastic edges don't fit into the grooves of the keypad itself. Am I missing something? I read on amazon.com that some people are dremeling the plug down to fit into the space!? This seems crazy to me.
