remote arm/disarm with basic subscription - canada

I’m having great difficulty confirming if, or not, I will be able to remotely arm disarm and/or switch off an activated alarm via the ring app if I have subscribed to the Basic Plan ($5.99/month in Canada). I have spoken to 2 different Ring customer support people and searched the internet endlessly, with varying answers from all. Google AI is also confused. Anyone able to provide current clarity? (April 2025 - Canada).

Hi @user_144fb1. Arming and disarming digitally in the Ring app is part of the Modes feature, which requires the Ring Home Standard plan. The Basic plan does not include Modes, so you would not be able to digitally arm and disarm you Ring Alarm via the Ring app. We have more information about how Modes works for different devices here https://ring.com/support/articles/p0klz/Controlling-Your-Ring-Devices-with-Modes.
