Linking user (my partner) to my device

Question

My partner is trying to add me has sent the invite via email but I press manage access & it's adding me as a new user? How should we proceed?

Hi @user42699. Yes, your partner can add you as a [Shared User](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005235186-Controlling-Ring-Devices-With-Users-and-Roles) if the Ring device is set up under their Ring account. You will then have access to use the Live View and receive notifications, but you cannot change settings on the device, only the Owner can. After you have accepted the invitation, you can sign into your Ring account and toggle to the [Location](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005039983-Managing-Ring-Devices-Using-Locations) with (Shared) in the name. This should show you the device you have been shared on.
