Ring indoor cam Modes with VLANs

so I have a dedicated IoT VLAN which all our Ring gear lives on. I recently put in the indoor camera and would like to take advantage of the Modes feature to allow for privacy when the Ring system detects we are home, since my phone is on our primary LAN the Ring system doesn't recognize we are home. Ideally I want to be able to manually trigger from the mobile app that "yes, we are home" or to their "disarmed" mode. I really really don't want to put my phone on the IoT wifi just to take advantage of this feature.
