General feedback to the Ring team
Hi, I’d like to share my thoughts about the plans offered by Ring, and I’d appreciate any guidance on how to ensure this feedback reaches the decision-makers. I hope the company values and considers customer voices. I was genuinely surprised to learn that keeping recorded videos on my Ring camera requires an additional paid subscription. For a company focused on enhancing safety and security, it’s disappointing that there isn’t an option for at least a few days—or even a week—of complimentary video storage. When I purchased your camera, it was with the expectation that it would help protect my family, home, and belongings. To then discover that I need to pay a recurring fee just to access recordings feels disheartening. The purpose of security footage is to provide evidence or insights when incidents occur—not to require users to constantly monitor a live feed. What happens if a crime takes place, and I have no evidence because I didn’t subscribe to a plan? I urge you to consider offering a baseline level of recorded video storage for all users, regardless of their subscription status. Even a single day of storage would align more closely with the purpose of your product: the safety and security of your customers. Otherwise, it seems like financial gain is prioritized over the very values Ring stands for. Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback. I look forward to seeing Ring align more with the needs and trust of its customers.

I have two cameras (not Ring) that offers free Cloud storage of 6 seconds of footage for each motion sensed for 1 month. It doesn't sound much, but in fact it works perfectly. I can also choose to download that footage to my computer at one click of a mouse. Ring is in the dark ages where this is concerned, but sadly, they are only interested in profit. Your safety is not of prime concern to Amazon. I do have Ring cameras because I have a Ring alarm. All my devices are covered under one subscription. However, for safety reasons I have those two other cameras, so the property is covered by more than one brand, hopefully then if one brand fails, or is somehow blocked or unplugged, the others might pick something else up. I also have a range of visible and hidden cameras, for obvious reasons. It is a shame that Ring is so obsessed with profit. However, if you have the opportunity, send the Ring Doorbell back and look at Eufy. They have local storage with no subscription, so if all you need is a doorbell, you'd do a lot worse than the Eufy.
