“Advanced Motion Detection” is a helpful feature for “This feature lets you tailor motion detection for your home, increases accuracy, and trims empty footage from recordings.” However, “With this feature enabled, recordings end when motion stops.”The result for me is that I get recordings of motion which show a car pulling up and stopping in front of my house, and as the car door starts to open, the clip ends. 15 seconds total. The person getting out of the car, walking towards the camera at my front door, walking back to their car, and driving off are not recorded at all.Setting the “Video recording length” to 90 seconds doesn’t solve this issue because of the way the Advanced Motion Detection setup determines that recording ends when motion stops - and new motion which happens immediately upon the camera logic to stop recording doesn’t re-trigger the recording to begin againFor now, I’ve had to turn off the “Advanced Motion Detection” in order for the motion clips to adhere to the video length I’ve chosen. It would be nice if these two settings weren’t linked in this way so we could get the benefits of Advanced Motion Detection while still recording for the length of time that we have chosenAlternately/also - it would be nice if new motion that happens right after the initial motion has stopped would trigger recording once again. That would make it so there’s no need to set a longer recording length because of the motion that is being missed by Advanced Motion DetectionThanks so much for your consideration!
