Very short battery life

Hello We bought a house with a ring doorbell late last year, took over the doorbell no problem, however, we’re really struggling with battery life. We’re only getting around 3 days before having to charge and that’s with motion detection switched off. I bought 2 new batteries not ring branded and they’re the same.  Is there something wrong with the doorbell or am I missing something?
