Ring doorbell 1 hard wire
Can the ring doorbell 1 be hard-wired? The video tutorial only shows it being wired through an existing doorbell and explains how to adjust the existing doorbell chime which I obviously don't have. Can I wire it through spur from a light switch that' s adjacent to the door? It seems feasible to me but I'm not an electrician. Just thought I would check before I get quotes.

Hey @Phillipa03. The only two configuration we recommend when it comes to wiring the Doorbell are directly to the transformer, which you can learn more about [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/205180710-How-to-Connect-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Directly-to-a-Low-Voltage-Transformer-Without-a-Pre-existing-Doorbell-), and to an existing chime kit, which you can learn more about [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115001912086-How-to-Physically-Install-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-1st-Generation-with-an-Existing-Doorbell). :)
