My Ring speaker has failed after three years.

My Ring Pro doorbell is out of warranty. The bellpush speaker has failed and customer services are telling me that under warranty they could have supplied a new bellpush free of charge. I asked to buy a new bellpush but they won’t supply it on its own; I have to spend £200 for a complete system. I won’t need the power supply, so it seems very wasteful (and costly). Why can’t I just replace the speaker? Three years usage doesn’t seem good value!

I am confused, so perhaps the person at Ring was too. When you say "speaker" do you mean the Ring Chime, the bit that plugs in to a socket in the home? Or are you saying the speaker on the Doorbell (where the caller can hear you talk to them) has failed? If it's the former, you can just replace that part with another Ring Chime, they're not paired to each other. Or indeed you can buy any Amazon Echo device which can be set to listen, and in the case of an Echo Show, see the caller. If the latter, you will need a new Doorbell of the type similar to the existing (battery or mains). But you don't need to buy a Chime as well if that part still works, you can just pair the new bell with your existing Chime. Only if you have subscribed to one of Ring's plans on a constant basis since purchase can you expect a replacement doorbell for free from Ring unless you are covered under the laws of your specific country, but you haven't said where you live so cannot advise there.
