Ring Video Doorbell
Notifications for PEOPLE detection only
For Ring Doorbell....I had turned off motion alerts because I live near a street and it was going off all the time. Recently, I saw the "smart alerts" and selected People Only Mode, to only get notified when there was a person detected. It worked perfectly until today when I started to get notifications, again, for all motion including people. What do I select to ONLY get notified when a person is detected?

I have the same issue on my Ring Doorbell 3 (hardwired) & called customer support today. Was shocked to hear that there's no way to receive a notification for "person detected" without receiving notifications for ALL motion. My door faces a busy street. I don't want to be notified every time someone walks past, but when they open my gate that's when I want to be notified. I'm actually happy with the sensitivity settings, person detection logic - the event history shows that the events are being correctly filtered between "motion" and "person detected". However, I'm amazed the Android app doesn't have the ability to notify me of "person detected" only! At the moment, I have 3 options: 1) Turn off all motion notifications. If there's a person who comes through my gate, I won't know about it until I notice something missing & then I'll check the app. 2) Switch on notifications but turn off some motion zones and reduce sensitivity to minimum setting. If there's an incident, there's a good chance that it will not be recorded. 3) Let the notifications drive me insane. At the moment, I'm persisting with option 2. Such a simple function - but unless this is introduced soon I will unfortunately have to switch to another product.
