Hi @jimb408. Even though the Ring Video Doorbell 2 is hardwired, it is still powered via the battery. The hardwiring benefit is to give you a trickle charge on the Doorbell 2, but it will still be battery powered, therefore not becoming a hardwired and powered via hardwiring only device.
