Video doorbell 2nd gen did not come with diode or jump cable to install to existing doorbell. Do I really need it?  My existing doorbell makes an awful static sound when the ring doorbell is activated.  The Ring Chime i installed last month is not consistently and the battery was suddenly drained on the video doorbell t/ hardwired installation since I installed the Ring Chime is not working.  Can this all be related b/c no diode or jumper installed?

Hi @user_bc0dca. The device didn't come with a diode or jumper because it doesn't require one. What make/model chime kit do you have? You will need to see if it is compatible because if it is not, it could be causing the static noise you're hearing.
