Ring should be lowering the price as their use base increases. Basic economics. PC's dropped as volume went up, as does every other product. This is creating the window for a responsible company to come in and take their business - which has happened many times. Greed does not normally have long term benefits.

Yes, unless this is some sort of hoax, it is inconceivable that they are DOUBLING the cost. I could understand a 5 or 10 percent increase, but 100% ???? That's crazy. We are going to be looking at some of the alternatives like Simplisafe or Cove. This shows how much loyalty is worth to them. We helped them get to where they are today.

I agree that a 100% increase is just not ok. I invested on this solution as I thought Ring was not a greedy company… but they have proved me wrong!  I will be canceling my service as soon as it goes up. I hope many do so they see the mistake it is to treat your loyal customers like this.

Same! can’t believe they doubled the price — I need to know fire fighters will be dispatched automatically if my fire alarm triggers but not for $20 per month. I will have to cancel ring monitoring when the price increases and find another smart fire alarm that dispatches responders for a reasonable $5 or $10 a month (and $10 already seems too expensive).

Yeah, I came here (for the first time) to see (confirm) what others thought of the rate hike. While price increases are a thing, Ring has really botched this up.  For starters, this is too much too quickly. To keep the features I have access to now, I would be paying double what I pay now as 14.99 CAD goes to at least 30 (monitoring now an additional 14.99 a month)--something formerly included now costs an additional 100% of the rate. Okay... The salt in the wounds, however, is the completely patronizing language being spattered throughout the email and website. "Already a subscriber? Your plan is getting even better. Learn more here." (spoiler alert; that's a dead link) Is my plan getting even better?! Well jeez, thanks so much Ring! But... wait a second, when I compare... it is almost as if it's getting worse? But that can't be.  If Ring's execs realized that this change was going to be so bad that they ought to just deceive loyal customers... perhaps that should have encouraged a longer pause and perhaps actual consideration of their customers. So... this is fine. Really, just today I was struggling to get my piece of garbage Fire HD10 to work properly... it used to, in Canada, have a "show mode" that let it function in the way I intended. But Amazon went ahead and "improved" it for me so that functionality is gone and I can't get a bloody kitchen timer to show up and STAY up while I'm cooking. It's cool, though, I can ask Alexa as often as I need and she'll show it to me for about 10 seconds. Anyhow, I asked ChatGPT to confirm what I knew, that I couldn't access my Ring cameras from a Nest Hub... bummer. Welp, this rate hike and feature paring got me to take a closer look at the Nest Aware stuff -- I hadn't checked them out in a couple years and lo and behold their prices for camera monitoring went from bonkers/stupid to what is apparently now reasonable (200 CAD a year for something akin to what Ring will charge 300 for). Better hardware from Google. Oh, finally a real smoke detector in Canada! Woo! All this stuff is goin' up for sale I guess. I'll splurge and spend a good chunk on new hardware but Amazon has convinced me that Canada is an afterthought (lol also discovered today Echo Show 8" 3rd gen is not available here; amazon.ca still proclaims the 2nd gen it is showing me as the latest! Not deceptive at all (just the latest we'll sell you Canadians...). Tisk tisk. Crappy behaviour from a company that has a reputation problem. Mistakes were made with this one.

This is nothing more than pure greed. On top of the terrible chat and phone support, now you want to increase the premium to your customers in the hope they won't just stop using your product. It is a shakedown, and I won't be participating. I hear Eufy is a decent product, so I guess I will look there, and I would suggest others do the same.

So our 9.99 plan is increasing to 19.99 and then the addon for Monitoring is an additional 10$ a month per the website? so all in all 30$. No thanks I will be switching and ill rip out every amazon device in my home if I have to.
