Solar no longer showing for spotlight cam plus
My other 3 Ring devices that don’t have a solar connection show the line “solar status” = “not connected”, but this one (that is connected to solar) doesn’t show any line of “solar status” against the device at all. I put a fresh battery in it yesterday, and checked the connection from the panel, and the app keeps prompting me to change the camera to “wired” mode, which I ignore. Now it’s already at 44%?!

Thanks, Tom. The RSSI is 31. It gets few events, but after the sudden drain I reduced its detection to the bare minimum to see if it’d help (it hasn’t). It gets more than 4 hours of direct sunlight a day, which had been more than sufficient for the several months I first had it. I’ll give the reset a try, but something’s clearly gone wrong. *edit: where is the reset button on the spotlight cam plus?!* **found white button on top** Cheers, Andy

CHi @user_386479. The setup button is located on the top of the camera. Holding it down for 20 seconds will reset the camera. If this issue continues to happen after resetting the Spotlight Cam, I'd recommend following up with our support team. You can get in touch via one of the numbers here, or on Facebook @Ring.

Same thing is happening to me. I have 2 other solar panels, (1) with barrel connector connected directly to barrel connector on camera and (1) with new spotlight cam and new solar panel with usb-c connector connected directly to camera. These (2) give me no issues. The problem I got is with the new spotlight camera and usb-c connection to older solar panel that has barrel connector. I bought the Ring suggested jumper wire to make the older solar panel work, but under devices there is not even a line for solar panel connection under the battery listings. I’ve tried resetting, removing the camera from devices and reinstalling, connections all look good, and panel used to work fine with my old camera until it died. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Hi @user_386479. What is the RSSI for this device? How many events are happening per day? Does your device get at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day? I would suggest resetting your device by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds, then releasing it. Once that is complete, you can reconnect the device to WiFi and monitor is battery consumption.
