[RING SUPPORT] Cameras doesn't need to record every single microscopic motion
This question is for Ring support, since there is no way to email them by design. I've regretfully spent $800 on these data-leaking devices for home, and find them to be constantly buggy and not working when there is actual activity at my house. I've noticed that my backyard camera records literally EVERY movement in the yard, no matter how low I set the sensitivity settings. This makes it pretty much unusable to navigate to an event that happened, for example, 6 hours ago, because there are 180 events between now and then that I have to swipe through before I can get to them. I've screwed around with the 14 different menu settings to attempt to change the behavior, to no avail. I should get a job at Ring with how much time I waste on your app :upside_down_face: Can you guys add some sort of setting that doesn't record EVERY event that occurs? For example, I have a tree that provides shade over the back patio, and the shadow continuously moves. i don't need to know about every single movement of this tree. And then when an actual HUMAN walked across my backyard, the camera "forgot" to record this important motion. Thanks. That was literally the only reason I bought Jeff Bezos Omnipresent Monitoring Machines. Thanks

Hi @user18178. Since you seem to have extensively adjusted your Motion Settings, this may have to do with how your camera is mounted. This Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000124983-Proper-Positioning-for-Your-Floodlight-Cam) has information on the proper placement of your Ring device. You can also post a screenshot or video of your device here, so the Community can offer a suggestion on how to mitigate the frequent recordings. If you'd like to troubleshoot this in real time with a support team agent, Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.
