Shouldn't the 30 day free trial with a new device be added on to your existing Ring Doorbell Plan?
Hi CommunityMy old rind Doorbell Pro internal battery failed (Hardwired), thus meaning the device no longer powered up. I replaced it by buying a new Ring Doorbell Pro (Gen 2) and it came with a free 30 day trial. At the time of replacing I spoke to ring customer service who informed me that the 30 day free trial will be added on to my existing yearly plan that I have and that once the 30 day free plan period is over it will revert back to my old plan which still had a number of months on it to run. My free 30 days trial period plan ended a few days ago and I was left with no basic plan at all. I called Ring customer service who said they had to transfer the account to my yearly plan and that I do not get an additional 30 days on my plan, even though I had paid for a new device. In order to get the 30 days extra I had to cancel the plan from my old device and then run the 30 days on the new device and then sign up again for a new plan to begin once the 30 days was over. Also I had to call them and have Ring customer service manually transfer from my old device to my new device. I spoke with someone called Rama from Customer Service who was VERY argumentative and tried to gas light me in thinking that it was my decision to carry on my existing plan on my old device whilst I did 30 days on my new plan which in fact I had called Ring and told something completely different. Has anyone had a similar experience? Ring Customer Service staff Rama was very rude to me on the phone failing to acknowledge that I was told something different by Ring and failing to understand that I have now been done out of the 30 days of a free plan which I could have had, BUT I would have had to cancel my subscription on my old device and then sign up again on the new device. She also said she cannot raise a complaint for me as RING, DO NOT have a complaints process. What a shambles, I think I might just use an alternative once my plan is up, sell my device and get something like a Blink or a EUFY device, this is appalling customer service.
