I have a Ring Smoke/CO Listener that didn't pick up a ringing smoke detector. I have professional monitor and I am very lucky I was home. How do I 'test' the alarm w/o alerting professional monitoring? I want to force the smoke detector to go off which will signal the other detectors to go off and make sure the Ring Smoke listener goes off WITHOUT alerting professional.

Hello @sagosto. You can test your your Ring Alarm Smoke & CO Listener without triggering the Alarm by temporarily swapping to Self Monitoring. Here are the steps to switch between Professional and Self Monitoring: 1. Open the Ring App. 2. Tap the **Menu**. 3. Tap **Settings**. 4. Tap the monitoring option that is currently listed under **Type**. 5. Tap **Professional** **Monitoring** or **Self** **Monitoring.** After you've changed to Self Monitoring, follow the steps outlined in our Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021395512-Testing-your-Ring-Alarm-Smoke-CO-Listener) to test your Smoke & CO Listener. This will ensure it is configured to actively listen for your smoke & CO detectors. Once you're done with the test, you can switch back to Professional Monitoring with the steps above.
