Ring video second generation troubles, with solar panel that surrounds the camera
When I bought my first ring video doorbell, 2020, second generation, I was very excited that I finally got one. However, I found that plugging in and taking out the battery was a big nuisance so in the meantime I kept seeing ads about getting the ring video solar panel that fits around the ring video doorbell. So I purchased it, however, it wasn’t keeping a charge and couldn’t take it back because it was past the 30 days which would make no sense if you didn’t give us longer to see if it might not work for some. So it could be returned and get another additional device that suit your customer better. So was a waste of money, so it just sits in my drawer and another expense I didn’t get a refund for. I only used for two months. So I ended up buying the other device that allows you to leave in the battery, and then you put the no drill mount ring video doorbell, 2020 with a plug in the side of it so you can just run a long cord from your door into your house and plug it in and it will charge and it’ll tell you when it’s fully charged and complete. the meantime, it still shows that I have this ring video solar panel surrounding my ring video second generation versus me charging the battery only. And I found that it was not doing what it supposed to. So purchased (No-drill mount for ring doorbell 2020 release) with a plug built-in charging port without disassembling ito charge. It takes about 6 1/2 hours to complete the charging. no more removal of the battery and disassembling the 2nd generation ring doorbell that was a nuisance. So I took off the solar charger doorbell, second generation, and installed no drill mount for ring video doorbell, 2020 but I cannot take off in the settings the solar panel that I originally put on there. the solar charger video doorbell, second generation cannot be removed in the settings so it keeps telling me I have no battery life when I actually do. , it’s called a no drill mount ring video doorbell. but unfortunately on your app it still shows the solar charger still installed on that camera. so it keeps showing my battery is drain of my power level is zero I need to know what to do to remove this solar charger that is no longer installed and shows the new no drill mount for ring video doorbell 2020 release with a side plug in power cord.. I have. power I need to know what to do to remove solar charger from the settings. for the video doorbell second generation. no drill mount Doorbell 2nd generation.? . Thank you, Kimberly.

Hi @user52021. You should not use both a Solar Charger and the [Plug-In Adapter](https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-plugin-adapter-gen-2) at the same time. Make sure the Solar Charger has been removed and the Plug-In Adapter is properly connected at the Doorbell and the power outlet. Then perform a reboot on your Doorbell using the [reboot option](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/7438395032980-Rebooting-your-Video-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera) on the Device Health screen. If you're unable to reboot your Doorbell, you can reset it by holding down the setup button for 20 seconds. Once the reset is complete, set the Doorbell back up in the Ring app using the steps under Set Up a Device. The Device Health page should then display the correct power source. If it doesn't, please follow up with our support team at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406#callus). If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.
