Chime not connecting to wifi
Hi All. I just bought a chime to connect to my ring doorbell. The chime won’t connect to my home wifi. I have tried to setting the chime up close to my router, close to the doorbell and then also removed the doorbell and had that close to the router and chime. Still doesn’t connect. I have also turned off mobile data on my iPhone. Please help!

For me it ended up being Location not turned on in my phone during setup. Took talking to a tech for about 15 mins before that came up. Odd how it never asked for that during setup.

I upgraded my router and got the doorbell to connect to my wi-fi but the chime wouldn't. I spent several hours trying every way recommended. I then called ring support and the first tech made me redo everything I had already done several times before referring me to an advanced tech. He asked me about my phone, which is an android model. The first thing he had me do was, 1. go to settings, 2. go to the General Management setting, 3. push the Reset button, then push the Reset the Network Settings button, when it asks if you want to connect, press no so you have to renter your password, 4. then return to the Ring app and restart the process to add the chime to the network. When I did it that time, it set up the chime with no problem. After getting the chime back online don't forget to connect it to you ring doorbell.

A"2. go to the General Management setting" @lewisburg03 can you please explain where that General Management setting is? I have a Pixel 2 (Android 11) and can't find it, even when using the search bar in the upper right of the settings app.

I am so frustrated at this process. Reaching someone for help has been a nightmare. Uggh! The chime is not connecting to the internet. I have rebooted the router, turned off my cell phone and tried the installation of this for months. OMG!! I had to give up. Since Covid it has been on my list of things to do so I tried for hours today and nothing, zilch, nada!! Is it defective?

Hello, I had great difficulty connecting a new 2nd generation chime to my existing system.I tried every suggestionI could lay my hands on to resolve the issue along with every tweak I had in the armoury for my home net. Eventually I stumbled onto a solution, firstly abandon any attempts to configure the chime through the set up a device option in the app.Instead select the devices option and select your existing doorbell option. When you arrive at this page select the linked chimes from the six options available. The new page will now present you with the familar set up device selection page.Continue with the set up as normal select connect to home network and select another network/ wave band on your own network it doesnt matter just move away from the existing connection at this point.Once the connection fails reselect the previous network. At this point instead of the unable to connect at this time error the application will ask you to input your wifi password.Enter the password and the door opens a firmwire update will download and the chime will set up completely on your system. I'm guessing a bug in the app isnt throwing up the option to reselect the network connection and just giving up instead. If thats the case temporarily disabling the security might allow connection and the firmware upgrade which maybe another way out. Anyway it worked for me Goodluck!
