Ring.com vs Ring Desktop app

Will [ring.com](http://ring.com/) (Safari/Mac) be persistent? Not log out. Not require 2 factor authentication? Ring support is unable to change the phone number my code goes to. Will I get realtime notification on [ring.com](http://ring.com/) of live events? This is such an awesomely bad idea. Getting rid of the Ring desktop app. Any insights appreciated. SkipH
