Ring Alarm Pro Base Station is dropping internet connection every two hours
I have a Ring Alarm Pro (RAP) base station that is directly connected to Spectrum internet service via an ethernet cable. The base station serves as my primary router for our home which is about 1700 square feet. The base station has been dropping the internet connection at regular intervals. When this happens i am unplugging both the modem and the RAP. I wait for the modem to fully connect and then reconnect the RAP. The two connect right away but the connection fails again after 2 hours - almost to the second. This has been occurring for about a week. Spectrum has been out and replaced the modem and checked the service into the house and claims everything is ok. Somethin is timing out at the two hour mark. I have been working with Eero without any success. Any suggestions?

There is nothing else connected to the modem aside from the Ring Alarm Pro. The entire network is dropping and going Ring cellular backup. I do have an update. Because we were down so much and were not getting anywhere with Spectrum or eero support, we opted to switch our ISP to Frontier. Frontier uses a eero router so in their setup the Ring Alarm Pro became a secondary router that direct connects into the Frontier eero. It has been 24 hours since the switch and the network is stable. I will connect with Ring support to update. I am not sure it if was a Spectrum problem or a congestion problem with the Ring Alarm Pro being the primary router.

UI am having the same issue with my hardwired ring alarm losing connection. I do not have that issue with any other devices. When I reset my router, it fixes the issue, but annoying to have to continue to reset router. Not sure if a ring issue or router.

JHi @user_ca04b7. It could be network-related. I would suggest reaching out to your internet service provider to see if they could assist with checking your router or possibly issuing a new one.

@user_ca04b7 Thank you for sharing this update. I'm glad to hear your network has been stable after swapping providers! It's definitely possible it was a Spectrum problem, as it can be hard to get internet service providers to acknowledge and resolve intermittent network issues.

Hi @user_ca04b7. We mainly help with general questions and troubleshooting here on the Ring Community. This issue might need to be raised with our support team, but we can try a few things to narrow down a potential cause. Do you have anything else connected directly to the modem via Ethernet cable? I'm curious if the entire network itself is dropping every two hours, or if it is only the Ring Alarm Pro.
