Motion Notification Cooldown

Please add the ability for us to set a motion Notification Cooldown period. User should be able to toggle this on or off. User should be able to set the cooldown period. If the Motion Cooldown toggle is on: When a motion notification is sent, the cooldown period begins. No further motion notifications are sent during the cooldown period. The original motion notification that triggered the cooldown period should not be affected. Other notifications such as doorbell pressed should also not be affected during the cooldown period. If motion is detected during the cooldown period, these events should still be recorded, it is only the notifications that are not sent. If motion is detected during the cooldown period, this should not reset the cooldown period. Rationale: Frequently when I am in the front yard, I come back to my phone and have multiple dozens of motion notifications.

Hi @kroonys3. Have you tried utilizing the Motion Snooze feature? You can set a duration of time to snooze motion alerts from one or all of your Ring Doorbells and Cameras. It would not apply to notifications such as Doorbell rings.

Hi @Caitlyn_Ring, Yes, but the whole idea of this request is to be able to automate the snooze. I would much prefer to not have to manually snooze everytime I step outside. I think a user togglable automatic cooldown/snooze feature would be extremely easy to implement, and would add so much value to my ring system.

You can suggest this feature to the app’s development team or check if the app’s settings already offer a similar function. It’s all about enhancing user experience by managing alerts efficiently.

@WayneF11 , I agree! I think it will enhance the user experience a lot. I hate having to manually snooze everytime I step outside in order to avoid the notification overload. Where is the best place to suggest the feature to development team? Or is this it here? Please vote for this if you think it’s a good idea
