The dark house with A19 "Smart LED Bulbs" which cannot be scheduled

I'm living in a beautiful, well lit neighborhood. Everyone has nicely lit entrances and garden lights which turn on and turn off on a schedule. When you look at my street, you marvel at how dreamy it looks with all these nice lights everyone has. Well... until you see my dark house with these lousy Ring lights which only come on when the are activated by motion lol..... I am probably the only guy on the street fumbling around with this dumb app to try and get the lights to turn on and stay on or off manually. These are not smart lights and it is not a smart app. I need my lights to turn on and off at scheduled times. Is it that difficult to update the software so that my lights can at least perform the most basic "smart bulb" task?

Your A19 Smart Lighting Bulb should certainly be able to schedule times when it turns on (i.e; dusk to dawn) in the Ring app. While logged in on the Ring app open the Menu, select Devices, visit your Smart Lighting group that contains the A19 Bulb and tap on the A19. From there you will see the ability to change your light schedules. Please ensure for a good connection between your Ring devices, and that no VPN in enabled on the mobile device, this way the light schedule can save. I hope this helps! :) https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042232071-Using-Light-Grouping-to-Enhance-Your-Smart-Solar-Lights

The A19 lights do not work with Dusk to Dawn setting, I have called customer support several times, two times I was told Dusk to Dawn was not supported and one time I was told it is supported and should work, but I am unable to get the Dusk to Dawn setting to work even though it is an option in the app. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi @JFP. When going into your settings and creating a Light Schedule for your A19 bulbs, you should have the option of dusk for the start time and dawn for the end time. Are you missing those options when creating a Light Schedule? Do the lights not turn on at all? Do they activate but not at the time you expect them to turn on?

All the settings are there in the app including dusk to dawn. I have tried the dusk to dawn setting several times and it will not work. I can set a custom time schedule and that will work, but I really would like the dusk to dawn to work since it is advertised that way on the Ring website. Customer service has not been much help, one rep told me dusk to dawn is not supported and another said it is and should work, but it does not. Another customer service rep suggested I need to buy a Ring transformer but they are only for low voltage lights not 120 volt lights.

Hi @JFP. Is your A19 bulb installed on a light with a dimmer switch? How far away is the A19 bulb from your Ring bridge? Have you tried this in different light receptacles to see if that will change how it behaves? I've set my A19 bulb to "Dusk to Dawn" to see if it will work for me and I'll report back with how it works out.

Hi Tom, the lights are not on dimmer switches. I have not tried different locations but I will give it a try. The bridge is about 25 feet from the lights by a window.

Hi @JFP. I've tested the dusk to dawn schedule on my A19 bulb and it has worked the past 2 nights. I suggest reaching out to our support team to look into this and see whay yours is not. You can give us a call or message us on Facebook @Ring.
