Hi , I have various ring items and very happy. However, I’ve added a stick up camera outside and it’s very poor WiFi. Range extender says for alarm, (I already have one). Can I get anything to boost range to camera?

You need to improve your wifi. Ring's Range Extenders are only for Z-Wave, the network your alarm and its sensors use. There are no magic answers for improving the wifi outdoors, you either move existing router nearer the camera, or you replace your existing wifi with a Mesh System that has multiple nodes such as TP-Link's Deco series so that you can place a node nearer the camera. If after you've done that, you still have poor wifi, you can add an outdoor node (Deco X50-Outdoor) but you have to make sure you position that so that it can communicate with one of your indoor nodes, although they can be directly connected with Ethernet if its possible. Of course if you can move the camera to a position closer to your existing router, that would be a heck of a lot cheaper! This is exactly what I have had to do, now all my outdoor cameras have good wifi

Thanks, I’ve added a chime pro and WiFi’s gone from 77 red to 66 grey so much better, but still not really good enough. My plan now is to leave it as is for summer and move camera closer to router later. Hopefully that will work ? Failing this I’ll look into mesh system.

Hi @user_4224a2. What a great improvement! I'm glad to hear that the Chime Pro is working for you.

Hi @user_4224a2. I'd highly recommend reviewing the suggestions provided by @user63814, as they are great ideas on how to improve wifi signal for your Ring Camera. If you're unable to relocate your router, you can also try using a wifi extender. Your internet service provider may be able to recommend one for your system, or you can use a Chime Pro. I hope you're able to find a solution that works for you! 😊
