Door bell chime constant humming
I fitted the Ring system a week ago, in a new build home, hard wired into the existing door bell circuit that had no issues. It has the external bell plugged in very close to the door and it all works as it should. The issue i have is that the existing door bell chime, that rings fine when the bell is pushed, has a constant low hum from it. Looking at it the mechanism inside can be seen to be moving, creating the hum, but not making any sound. Initially it did let off random dings from this bell when it was first fitted, as though the button had been pressed, but this has stopped happening. The specs of the existing door bell chime are, Gong 169 TRW, 220-240V 50Hz, 80dB(A) KB5/15 s. Has anybody experienced this?

Hi @user30555. What is the specific doorbell model you have? In the Ring app, within the Device Settings > General Settings Menu, what do you have selected for your Chime Kit? There should not be a low hum of any sort, as this is typically and indication of a an issue with the wiring of the device. I suggest disconnecting this doorbell from power until you can sort this out by either contacting our support team or a qualified electrician. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406).
