Chime not working

Hi, I have a chime 2nd generation plugged in and I’ve installed it as it says. But it is not ringing when someone is pressing my doorbell.  My app recognises it. It has the blue light on. I have the volume turned up and it’s not on snooze. not quite sure what else to do to make it work? I’ve also noticed that my Alexa is not announcing calls even tho my settings on the skill are to ensure that it does. Anyone else having any issues? any help would be appreciated.
