TERRIBLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE

TERRIBLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE! We purchased over $800 worth of ring camera equipment to place around my elderly father's home in late December of last year. Most of the equipment is wired, so we took some time to get things set up with a certified electrician. We had no issues with the two wired spotlight cameras, but the doorbell camera is faulty. The electrician showed me the readings from the voltmeter at the transformer as well as from the wires leading to the actual camera. All the readings were above 18. When the wires were hooked to the doorbell camera, the camera registered below 6, which is not enough to power the device. The electrician explained that this happens sometimes and that the camera needs to be exchanged. Long story short, after spending over an hour on the phone on two separate occasions, including uploading images, with customer service, they expected me to do what I hired an electrician to do, which was to hook the camera back up to the wires so that they could troubleshoot. I explained to them that I was not an electrician and that I was totally uncomfortable doing the things I paid a certified electrician to do. Customer service assured me that it would be safe and easy, but I refused to just take their word for it, and that I should not have to pay an electrician to come and hook it back up so that they could troubleshoot when they could easily just exchange the device. I even talked to management and I got nowhere. When I told them I would just send everything back for a full refund they explained to me that I was outside of the 30-day purchase timeframe and could not get my money back. I should have just gone with Vivint cameras. Cheaper is not always better. I had a TERRIBLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE with Ring and will see if my bank can help me get my money back.
